The Italian walking tractor was born in the Romagna region in the early 1950's. It was used to hoe the ground among fruit orchards and was devoted to this job only. In 1953 the first "GRILLO" walking tractors was born. This particular tractor could perform brilliantly several tasks.
The Grillo winning idea was to detach the "motorized-body" from the attachment. Fitting the tines it was possible to hoe, fitting the plough it was possible to plough, fitting a trailer it was possible to carry farm produce, fitting a pump it was possible to spray, etc..
1955 the factory started the first series production:
15 models per year.
1957 "Grillo" became the name of the factory (former Officine Pinza) and a brand.
Nowadays ten thousands of machines are sold throughout the world.
The GRILLO success hinged on the cutting-edge technology and quality the factory pursued.
Thanks to this milestone came to life new appealing models such as sickle bars, motor hoes, multipurpose vehicle or dumpers.
The 1980's experienced a considerable growth in the garden machines. In that years the GRILLO research and development department gave to birth to the first Italian lawnmower with double hydrostatic system.
The rest is history of today.
Constant in time is the commitment and the work quality we, GRILLO people, gladly devote to ensure our customers work "less" and enjoy it "more".
